WELCOME
I am Brian Kagel and I am an amateur musician, songwriter and recording engineer. I started writing and recording music on a portable cassette deck when I was 15, moved onto a Zoom MRS8 digital 8-track at 17 and finally a laptop at 26. I record under the pseudonym Brian Kael, writing, playing and recording everything myself except when I can get my partner Lindsey to sing. Together we also made up half of the short lived but locally acclaimed Bloomington, IL dream pop band IVO. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2009 with a BA in English & Creative Writing and decided to go back to school for Audio & Music Production when I saw Illinois State University had started a School of Creative Technologies.
